Rescue Training Institute of Southern California is a full-service safety training agency specializing in group training and serving the Greater Ventura and Los Angeles Counties.

Our Mission and Purpose

Rescue Training Institute of Southern California was established in 2012 and is owned and operated by Mark Fonseca. RTI exists to provide relevant and educational safety training to first responders, healthcare providers and lay responders in the Southern California Region.

In our ever-present busy world, trained responses to emergency situations can result in positive outcomes to challenging senarios. Our goal is to provide students skills to know how to respond calmly and efficiently in a real emergency. RTI is an authorized American Heart Association training center and adheres to the guidelines and requirements.

Understanding the facts of emergency response and preparedness is best learned through hands on training with excellent instructors and equipment. RTI offers knowledable instructors and up-to-date equipment to provide your group with skills to take away from the classroom. While the material is important, our instructors teach with humor through a structured and enjoyable course format.

Our History and Story

Rescue Training Institute initially began in Northern California by Greg & Cynthia Landin in 1990. Greg, now a retired, 30 year Captain/paramedic for Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Department, brought hands on experience and training to the classroom and built a successful and growing company to provide relevant training.
​

In 2009, Mark Fonseca, a Paramedic working for American Medical Response, met Captain Greg Landin on a medical call. Greg and Mark became acquainted and Greg offered Mark an opportunity to work part-time for Rescue Training Institute and bring his skills and expriences from EMS to the classroom.

Mark worked for RTI, teaching courses for a few years prior to starting the Southern California franchise. He learned the importance of client satisfaction, affordable training, and providing easy to follow instruction. RTI of Southern California is committed to the same standards of its Northern California roots; to meet the needs of clients who demand quality, relevant and enjoyable safety training. We hope to serve your needs too!

A FUN CPR VIDEO (2017)
